Across four generations
The Sprague family has been growing grapes along the Lake Erie waterfront, south of Buffalo, for over 100 years. Our head winemaker, Damen Sprague, is a fourth generation Welch’s grape farmer with a deep passion and obsession for wine. Our grape grower, Bill Sprague, has more than 50 years of experience farming grapes.
To produce the finest fruit
We start our process with the selection of vineyards. There are 400+ acres of grapes being farmed by the Sprague family and only a small selection is used for wine. We start our evaluation of the vineyard with the soil quality, while also evaluating the health and age of the vine.

And it’s stigma
If you told someone in Napa Valley that you frequent a winery mainly focused on the Concord grape they would probably fall over from their eyes rolling back in their head. We laugh at this assumption, considering most California winemakers have never been to WNY, seen a concord grape vine, tasted the fresh fruit off the vine or most importantly, tried OUR wine.
Reimagined with 12% & 15% ABV
The Concord grape is America’s sweetheart when it comes to grape juice, jam, jelly and table grapes yet it’s not well known or respected in the wine space. Our wine’s aroma will remind you of Fall in Western New York and the taste will take you back to drinking Welch’s grape juice as a child.
